Gates Open: 3:30pm (AEDT)

The W-League season reaches its climax this Saturday when Sydney FC and Perth Glory lock horns in what shapes as an engrossing Grand Final match-up.

Statistics suggest that this weekend’s decider will be a thrill-a-minute contest, with both clubs scoring the most goals (28) during the regular season.

Incredibly, Sydney and Perth have never played out a draw in the 19 times they have squared-off in the W-League era.

The two clubs average 4.6 goals per game whenever they have met at the Netstrata Jubilee Stadium – the venue for Saturday’s showpiece event.

Route to Grand Final

Finishing third on the table after the regular season, the Sky Blues won the right to host the Final thanks to a hard-fought 2-1 win over Brisbane.

Goals from Matildas star Caitlin Foord and Sofia Huerta proved the difference for Ante Juric’s side as they seek to win their first title since 2011.

An inspired performance from superstar Sam Kerr led Perth to a dramatic 4-2 win over minor premiers Melbourne Victory.

Kerr scored two goals in extra-time to complete a stunning hat-trick and secure a first Grand Final appearance since 2017 for Bobby Despotovski’s charges.

Prediction

The trio of Kerr, Rachel Hill and Alyssa Mautz have been the cornerstone behind Perth’s run to this year’s Grand Final – combining for 26 of the Glory’s 32 goals.

That firepower could prove too much for Sydney in what shapes as a cracking evening of high-stakes W-league football.

In what has been a tumultuous time for women's football in Australia, this weekend provides an opportunity to remind us all of the strength of the domestic competition.

Result: Sydney FC 2 Perth Glory 3
