Warren Joyce: “We Want Everybody Fit and Available”

Melbourne City coach Warren Joyce is confident his players will be fit and ready to take on the improving Wellington Phoenix side at AAMI Park tomorrow night.

Joyce mentioned the physical mentality of training, and that the quality needs to be at the best to get the most out of his entire squad.

“We want everybody fit and available, that’s what you want in a football club,” Joyce said today.

“We want everybody ready for the game tomorrow, you need everybody flat out every single day, and for the quality of the training.”

The City coach mentioned injured midfielder Osama Malik will be available for the clash, after going off in the 43rd minute with hip bruising after a late challenge from Victory defender Rhys Williams.

“Malik is a tough kid, he is going to be available, it’s a plus. He trained on later this week, and that’s another bonus for us he is available.”

Joyce also mentioned injured duo Fernando Brandan and Bruno Fornaroli, and how both men are tracking on their recoveries.

“Bruno actually taken his boot off, walking around today. He’s doing fine, and he has worked hard this week.”

“Fernando is chomping at the bit, and pushing all the time. We are pushing him, and challenging him. He’s got to keep working and training like everybody else.”

Joyce praised veteran Tim Cahill for his attitude and knows how hard the 37 Year Old is travelling balancing national and international commitments.

“Cahill was fantastic for Australia 10 days ago, and it’s been frustrating for me that he has never had a smooth run-in for the training setup.”

“His attitude to training has been fantastic, he is coming down and making a difference.”

Tomorrow is family day at AAMI Park, and Joyce is hoping to see plenty of families heading to the game tomorrow night, and urges the faithful to also bring the atmosphere similar to the round one clash against Brisbane Roar.

“It would be nice to see more people, the first game at home was really good atmosphere. You want people to come along, and bring kids for the first time.”
