Melbourne Victory coach Muscat open to extended A-League season

Kevin Muscat would not shy away from a longer A-League season.

The Melbourne Victory head coach suggests that he would back the lengthening of the current 27-week structure if the competition were to be increased.

“It’s not too long, if anything we would look to get more games,” he said on Sportsday.

“Hopefully there’s more teams to come into the competition in years to come.

“In finding a happy medium in terms of where the A-League sits commercially and that side of things and how many games that is required to suffice the commercial aspect of it.

“From a footballing perspective, you always want to play more games.”
