Final Socceroos World Cup squad announced

Socceroos coach Bert van Marwijk has named his final 23-man World Cup squad with youngster Daniel Arzani and striker Jamie MacLaren booking their tickets to Russia.

Arzani has the chance to become the youngster player to represent Australia at a World Cup, while MacLaren was initially left out of the preliminary squad before being recalled due to the fitness concerns over Tomi Juric.

Fran Karacic, Josh Brillante, James Troisi and Nikita Rukavytsa were the unlucky four to miss out.

Veteran forward Tim Cahill and the versatile Mark Milligan will join an exclusive group of players to have been apart of four World Cups.

Josh Risdon, Dimitri Petratos along with Arzani are the only three A-League representatives in the squad.

Australia face Hungary in a friendly next Sunday in Budapest before their opening Group C clash against France on June 16 in Kazan.

Socceroos’ World Cup squad:

Goalkeepers: Brad Jones, Mat Ryan, Danny Vukovic
