Former Socceroos captain, Premier League keeper join Football Nation team

Former Socceroos captain Paul Okon has officially joined the Football Nation team for the 2018/19 A-League season.

Okon is one of the most respected voices in Australian football after enjoying a distinguished career at both as a player and as a coach.

The midfielder won 28 caps for Australia while plying his trade across Europe for Italian clubs Lazio and Fiorentina and English sides Middlesbrough, Watford and Leeds United.

After retiring in 2007, Okon turned to management, taking up roles with a number of Australia’s youth teams before a two-year spell as head coach of A-League club Central Coast Mariners.

“I am thrilled to be joining the Football Nation team for the A-League season,” Okon said.

“Having coached and played in the league I look forward to providing our listeners with comprehensive insights and analysis of matches as well as the tactics teams are employing.”

We’re very excited to add to our already impressive list of expert commentators within the Football Nation team.

In what is already shaping as a hard-fought season with little separating a number of clubs, our commitment to over 80 Hyundai A-League games this season across the nation will only get better with expert analysis throughout the campaign.
